Blogger Interview : Books of Magic

I have the wonderful pleasure of being able to interview a blogger friend of mine that I’ve known for over a year.

I met her over on Goodreads, and she’s very kind, funny, and interesting. She’s a great friend of mine, and I’m really excited that I was able to learn more about her!

Hello, lovely. Tell us the basic stuff.

I’m Marina, I’m 28 years old. My birthday is on November 14th and I live in Novi Sad, Serbia.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I learned to read when I was only 3 years old. My grandma wanted to teach me everything about the world, and you can do that through books.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

Creative. Even though I’m reaaaally lazy, I have ideas for tons of stuff and I sometimes bring those ideas to life.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, if that counts? Drawing, because it’s relaxing and that’s my job too. I also like to fold origami, though I don’t do it often.

Do you have any pets?

I have a Samoyed dog named Taco, he’s almost 4 years old and now lives with my mom because she has a huge yard. I also have a white and grayish cat named Lyra. She likes to hide underneath blankets and play. She also loves to cuddle, kiss and spoon, so she’s like my second boyfriend lol.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I don’t know anyone who likes to read as much as I do in real life, most of my friends read one book a year! I was also going through a hard time last year because of severe anxiety, and I needed something to keep me grounded.

What do you like most about blogging? What do you like least?

I love meeting new people, and making friends all over the world! I also love to chat about books.

I can’t be consistent enough so deadlines bother me a lot. I’m a professional procrastinator.

What is your favorite and least favorite type of posts to write?

My favorite is lists, definitely. I love listing.

My least favorite is reviews, because it’s sometimes very hard to put into words what you feel about a certain book.

Okay, think hard. What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

Hmmm The Hobbit, The Discworld series, Tender Morsels, Harry Potter series and My Lady Jane off the top of my mind.

How about favorite and least favorite fictional character?

My favorite character is definitely Lyra from the His Dark Materials series. She’s a sassy 9 year old who likes to lie and cuss. 😀 I named my cat after her.

My least favorite character is Black Jack Randall from the Outlander series. I first though of Joffrey from Game of Thrones because he’s such a monster, but then I remembered there’s something even worse than him. Yeah.

Favorite and least favorite genre?

Fantasy is my all-time favorite, and I also really love horror.

My least favorite ones are romance, erotica, and science fiction.

Favorite Series

Definitely Harry Potter & His Dark Materials!

What is your Hogwarts house??!?

Slytherin. I’m not evil.

What is your favorite place to read?

My favorite reading spot is the park, because I read a book there twice and it totally counts!

What do you like to drink and snack on while you read?

The usual junk like coffee and junk food. I mostly like to snack on pistachios.

What is your favorite book you read in the last year?

That would be Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton!

Show us a book you own that has the prettiest cover

Do you own a copy of your favorite book?

I really want to see your bookshelf!!

And Taco & Lyra.

Wild Card Question!!!

If you could say anything to your favorite author, what would it be?

“No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away.”

-Terry Pratchett
